Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum – depending on experience.
Bonuses: £6,600 per year extra for on-call bonus
Job Type: Full-time permanent. (Shift pattern can be negotiated)
Hours: 0600am – 1800pm Rotational shifts / Weekend work 1 in 4 Saturday/Sunday mornings (additional payment provided)

Requirements:
- MUST have experience with Transport Planner role
- Proven experience in container haulage planning
- Proficient IT skills - experience using TOPS is a strong advantage.
- Route planning experience
- Use of computerised TMS plus other bolt-on variables to enable the management of other parts of our clients' operation
- Ability to lead and mentor other planners with the team
- Proficient ability in using industry standard IT
- Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
- Strong team player with good communication
- Ability to work under pressure
- A good understanding of the local geographical area would be advantageous
- Experience in planning/routing and managing a fleet of vehicles
- Can multi-task and prioritise duties
Responsibilities:
- Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across the company fleet.
- Managing the in-house systems and databases
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.
- Managing and maintaining office files
- Ensuring high levels of customer service with their clients and ensuring a high level of performance is always maintained.
- Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly.
- Planning the workload daily for the site.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate policies as well as legal requirements for vehicle operations, health safety, and other regulations.
- Routes must be planned in line with WTD
- Liaising with drivers and customers as appropriate
- Utilising drivers and vehicles for deliveries and pickups in an efficient manner
