Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Fire Alarm & Life Safety Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work across a varied range of commercial and industrial sites, carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and commissioning.

The successful engineer will work with a wide range of fire and life safety systems, including advanced and addressable fire alarms, VESDA, extinguishers and specialist suppression systems.

The role offers varied work, long-term stability and the opportunity to develop experience across multiple systems and manufacturers.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and proven experience commissioning and maintaining advanced fire alarm systems and VESDA.

They will be logical and methodical in their approach, with strong fault-finding skills and the confidence to work on customer sites.

A professional attitude and strong communication skills are essential, as the successful engineer will represent the business directly with customers.

They will also be reliable, well organised and a positive team player, with a willingness to support colleagues and participate in the out-of-hours callout rota when required.

  • Fire Alarm & Life Safety Engineer Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, maintain, fault-find and commission fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Work on advanced and addressable fire alarm systems across multiple manufacturers, including VESDA.
  • Carry out inspections, testing and remedial works in line with relevant industry standards.
  • Provide a professional, customer-focused service while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health & safety.
  • Complete accurate job reports and digital documentation, while participating in the out-of-hours callout rota when required.
  • Fire Alarm & Life Safety Engineer Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2 qualified Fire Engineer with proven experience commissioning advanced fire alarm systems.
  • Strong practical knowledge and experience of VESDA systems.
  • BAFE Extinguisher qualification and a full UK driving licence.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using tablets, mobile devices and digital reporting systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.

Desirable but not essential: Experience with Ansul/kitchen suppression systems, PAVA, access control and door entry systems, Gent or Protec systems.

Further training may be provided.
