An established and growing provider of fire and electronic security solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Fire & Security Service & Small Works Engineer to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable engineer looking to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on service, maintenance and fault-finding responsibilities with the delivery of small works projects and increased technical responsibility. Working across commercial and residential sites throughout the Southwest, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service delivery while supporting customers with fire and security systems.

Role

This position is focused on the servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and small works delivery of a range of fire and electronic security systems.

Typical work split:

  • 70% Fire Alarm Systems
  • 20% Access Control Systems
  • 10% CCTV and Intruder Alarm Systems

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, liaising directly with customers, commissioning and configuring systems where required, and providing guidance and support to junior engineers when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across fire and security systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Undertake repairs, remedial works and emergency callouts.
  • Deliver small works projects, including system upgrades, additions and modifications.
  • Configure and commission systems following installation or upgrade works.
  • Ensure all service reports, certificates and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Experience with some of the following systems would be advantageous:

  • Fire Alarm Systems: Advanced / Notifier / C-TEC
  • Access Control: Paxton / Salto
  • CCTV: Hanwha / Hikvision / Dahua
  • Intruder Alarms: Galaxy / Texecom / Pyronix
Candidate RequirementsEssential
  • Proven experience within a Fire & Security service, maintenance or small works role.
  • Experience servicing and fault-finding on fire alarms, access control, CCTV and intruder alarms.
  • Ability to commission, configure and test systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
Desirable
  • ECS or CSCS card.
  • IPAF / PASMA / SSSTS.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
