A well-established and growing commercial and industrial trade services business based in Hull is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help shape the next phase of its growth. Founded and led by its owner, a hands-on operator with a strong reputation for customer service and business development, the company is scaling quickly and now needs a dedicated senior operator to build out stronger systems and structure, allowing the owner to focus on client relationships and growth. This is a genuine General Manager / Head of Operations position, offering a senior right-hand role with real autonomy.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, scheduling and resource planning across commercial and industrial contracts
- Developing and embedding scalable back-office systems – accounts, invoicing, purchase orders, compliance and reporting
- Professionalising processes as the business grows, bringing consistency and structure
- Managing and developing office and operational support staff
- Working closely with the owner as a genuine right-hand / second-in-command, turning commercial wins into smooth operational delivery
- Driving accountability, KPIs and commercial discipline across the business
