Tramper Container Driver HGV Class 1 (LGV1, Cat C+E) – Southampton

- Monday to Friday (Tramping) occasional weekends

The Job - Container Driver HGV Class 1 (LGV1, Cat C+E)
- Operate HGV Class 1 articulated lorries with automatic gearboxes, primarily for container transport
- Complete deliveries and collections efficiently
- Utilise smartphone or tablet devices to log collections, drops, and status updates in real-time
- Comply with all site-specific procedures, especially within port environments
- Observe all Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations, ensuring accurate logging of driving hours, breaks, and rest periods
- Follow health & safety protocols and adhere to both agency and client operational policies
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with legal and company requirements
- Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent service to clients and customers
Skills and Experience Required - Container Driver HGV Class 1 (LGV1, Cat C+E)
- A valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) licence
- Must have Valid DP World Card
- A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
- A valid Digital Tachograph card
- Must be able to use electronic devices (EPODs/smartphones/instruction screens)
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience driving HGV1 class vehicles with containers
- A good level of English (spoken, written, and understood)
- Strong working knowledge of the UK motorway network and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
