We are looking for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join a trusted provider of integrated fire, security, and electrical solutions. As a Service and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, fault finding, and rectifying issues across a range of fire and security systems. You will work in accordance with NSI Gold, BAFE, and company guidelines. This is a role that offers ongoing training and support, with opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge in a wide variety of services. This is a team-based role, but you will also need to be capable of working on your initiative, managing your workload effectively, and adapting to changes as per client and market needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, fault diagnosis, and rectification of fire and security systems in line with industry standards (NSI, BAFE).
- Compile detailed and accurate reports from all site visits for internal and customer use.
- Participate in the team’s standby rota.
- Provide high level customer service while liaising with customers, manufacturers, and team members.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and best practices.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience in the fire and security industry, working across industrial, commercial, and domestic settings.
- Proven ability to service, diagnose faults, and carry out maintenance on fire and security systems.
- Experience with various fire and security systems, including Hikvision, Paxton, Scantronic, Texecom, Galaxy, Morley/Kentec Fire, EMS, and Nurse Call Systems.
- Strong understanding of NSI and BAFE industry standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and external organisations.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Fire extinguisher installation & servicing certification (preferred).
- IPAF or qualifications (Preferred).
- Asbestos Awareness (Preferred).
- ECS Card (with ideally at least 6 months remaining).
- You will need to be able to pass a screening.
