Company Overview: Our client is an established name in temporary plant hire, providing specialist heating and cooling solutions to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. As demand across the South East continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Boiler Engineer to join their operations team. This is a home/field-based role working on the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of temporary heating and cooling equipment across the region.
The Role: This is a hands-on field service position where you'll install and commission temporary heating and cooling systems at customer sites, ensuring equipment is safe, compliant and operating to the required standard. You'll service and prepare equipment before delivery, diagnose faults and carry out repairs where required, responding to breakdowns and emergency call-outs when necessary. You'll work directly with customers on site, providing a professional service and keeping them informed throughout the job. You'll also complete accurate records of installations, servicing, repairs and safety inspections, while ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations, codes of practice and manufacturer requirements. The role involves regular travel across the South East, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently at different customer sites. You'll be provided with a company vehicle and the role offers regular opportunities for overtime paid at 1.5x.
What You'll Bring: You'll have proven experience installing, servicing and maintaining commercial heating equipment, together with the relevant gas qualifications. The following qualifications are essential: COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/1A, ICAE1. Additional 18th Edition, OFTEC or F-Gas qualifications would be advantageous, as would previous experience working with chillers or other commercial cooling equipment. You'll have strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting. A safety-first mindset is essential, together with the ability to work professionally with customers and confidently manage jobs independently in the field. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with the flexibility to travel across the South East.
