We're looking for a practical, hands-on Electrical Engineer who thrives on solving problems and working directly on site. You'll be the one troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining electrical systems across multiple sites in London. Electrical Engineer Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of building systems, including lighting, power, and communications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on electrical systems, resolving issues on-site and ensuring repairs meet high standards.
- Ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained in line with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and building codes.
- Perform regular checks and ongoing maintenance of electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Help commission electrical systems, making sure everything is functioning correctly before handover.
- Work closely with site managers, contractors, and other team members to resolve electrical issues and keep projects on track.
- Stay on top of servicing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to prevent failures and reduce downtime.
- Keep detailed records of electrical work carried out, including repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Provide advice on best practices for electrical system upkeep and improving energy efficiency.
- Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests, troubleshooting and solving urgent electrical issues.
Electrical Engineer Skills & Experience
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the maintenance and installation of building systems.
- Strong experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
- Good understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and building regulations.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for electrical work on-site.
- Experience with fire and security systems would be an advantage.
- Solid problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to repairs and troubleshooting.
- Well organised, able to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality.
- Able to work under pressure and respond to urgent maintenance situations as needed.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and clients.
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
