We're looking for a practical, hands-on Electrical Engineer who thrives on solving problems and working directly on site. You'll be the one troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining electrical systems across multiple sites in London. Electrical Engineer Role & Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of building systems, including lighting, power, and communications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on electrical systems, resolving issues on-site and ensuring repairs meet high standards.
  • Ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained in line with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and building codes.
  • Perform regular checks and ongoing maintenance of electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Help commission electrical systems, making sure everything is functioning correctly before handover.
  • Work closely with site managers, contractors, and other team members to resolve electrical issues and keep projects on track.
  • Stay on top of servicing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to prevent failures and reduce downtime.
  • Keep detailed records of electrical work carried out, including repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Provide advice on best practices for electrical system upkeep and improving energy efficiency.
  • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests, troubleshooting and solving urgent electrical issues.

Electrical Engineer Skills & Experience

  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the maintenance and installation of building systems.
  • Strong experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
  • Good understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and building regulations.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for electrical work on-site.
  • Experience with fire and security systems would be an advantage.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality.
  • Able to work under pressure and respond to urgent maintenance situations as needed.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and clients.
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
