About the Role
Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Suppression / Sprinkler Engineer to join a growing team responsible for maintaining and servicing fire suppression systems across several large residential developments throughout East London and Southwest London. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with sprinkler system experience who is looking for a long-term position with the potential to transition to PAYE employment after an initial 6-month CIS contract period.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain sprinkler flow switch systems, including flow and signal testing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial sprinkler systems
- Service and maintain dry riser and wet riser systems
- Diagnose faults and undertake remedial works on fire suppression systems
- Complete service reports and compliance documentation accurately
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 week in every 3) once fully established in the role
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with industry regulations and company standards
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience installing, servicing, or maintaining sprinkler systems
- Experience working on domestic and/or commercial sprinkler systems
- Strong fault-finding and remedial repair skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
Desirable
- Experience servicing and maintaining dry riser and wet riser systems
- Relevant fire suppression, sprinkler, or mechanical engineering qualifications
- Experience working within residential developments or commercial buildings
Training courses may be available for candidates who have strong sprinkler experience but require additional dry/wet riser certification.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- 44 hours per week
Package
- £24 - £28 per hour (depending on experience)
- £160 monthly travel allowance

Important Information
All new engineers join initially as self-employed Sole Traders under a CIS arrangement.

- Candidates must be willing to work as a Sole Trader for the initial 6-month period
- After 6 months, engineers will have the option to move onto PAYE employment or remain as a Sole Trader
