Connect to Work is a new service designed to support people who face significant barriers to employment, including disability and mental or physical health conditions. The service focuses on helping people stay in work or move into meaningful, sustainable employment. We are recruiting a Team Lead to help build and lead this new service across Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on leadership role.
You will:
- Lead a small, specialist team
- Hold a reduced caseload focused on complex clients
- Work closely with health services, delivery partners and employers
- Deliver outcomes using an evidence-based Supported Employment model
This is an opportunity to shape a service from the ground up and make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
What you will be responsible for:
- Service delivery and leadership
- Lead and supervise a countywide team delivering the Supported Employment model (place, train, maintain)
- Ensure delivery aligns with IPS fidelity principles and commissioned outcomes
- Provide regular supervision, mentoring and field-based support to staff
- Casework and practice
- Manage a full caseload in year one, reducing over time to focus on complex cases
- Co-work cases with team members where required
- Support clients with disabilities, health conditions or other significant barriers into sustainable work
- Partnership working
- Build strong working relationships with health services, delivery partners, referrers, and employers
- Ensure a joined-up, seamless experience for participants
- Service development and improvement
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the service
- Work closely with performance and fidelity teams to monitor quality and outcomes
- Contribute to data collection, analysis and service development activity
What we are looking for:
- Essential experience
- Substantial experience supporting people with disabilities, and/or mental or physical health conditions, and/or other significant barriers to employment
- Strong experience working with people experiencing mental ill health
- Previous experience supervising or managing staff
- Experience of service development, promotion or improvement
- Experience of working in partnership across multiple agencies
- Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in health, social care, disability or employment support
- Management qualification, equivalent experience, or willingness to complete internal leadership training
