We\’re looking for freelance Essential Skills Tutors to join us as we embark on an exciting new youth employment contract in Belfast. This is your chance to be part of a purpose-driven organisation, helping young people gain the qualifications and confidence they need to progress into work, training, or further education. You\’ll be delivering high-quality Essential Skills sessions in your specialist subject – Literacy / Communication, Numeracy / Application of Number, or ICT – and making a real difference in the local community.

- Plan and deliver engaging Literacy / Communication learning sessions aligned to the Essential Skills curriculum and contract outcomes.
- Drive learner achievement and retention through high-quality teaching, assessment, and feedback.
- Build strong, motivating relationships with learners, colleagues, and stakeholders to create a positive learning environment.
- Ensure all delivery meets compliance, quality assurance, and safeguarding standards.
- Adapt delivery to meet employer needs and reflect local labour market opportunities.

Who You Are
You\’re a purpose-driven, dependable tutor who leads by example. You understand that supporting others into work or training starts with modelling reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to progress. You bring:
- A degree where English forms at least 50% of the subject studied (e.g., English Language, English Literature, English with Drama & Media).
- GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English (or Essential Skills Level 2 Communication) and Mathematics (or Essential Skills Level 2 Numeracy).
- A recognised teaching qualification in line with ES Circular 01/12.
- Experience delivering Essential Skills Literacy / Communication.
- A commitment to inspiring change, continuous improvement, and learner success.
