As a Youth Worker, you'll support young people to rebuild confidence, develop skills and take positive steps towards education, training and employment. Working with young people who may have faced significant barriers, you'll build trusted relationships, deliver engaging learning and personal development activities and provide the encouragement, challenge and consistency they need to move forward. Every young person's journey is different. Success may begin with improved attendance, increased confidence or completing a qualification before progressing into further learning or employment. This is a rewarding role for someone who believes in young people's potential and is committed to helping them achieve it.

What you will do:

  • Build trusted relationships that encourage young people to engage, participate and achieve their goals.
  • Deliver personal development, employability and accredited learning programmes that inspire progress.
  • Create individual action plans and provide one-to-one coaching and ongoing support.
  • Motivate, encourage and appropriately challenge young people to overcome barriers and build resilience.
  • Work closely with colleagues, employers and partner organisations to support positive learner journeys.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner welfare and professional practice.
  • Keep accurate records and follow required processes.
  • Communicate clearly with participants, colleagues and external partners.
  • Role model Get Set UK's values and demonstrate the employability standards we support in others, including good attendance, punctuality, professionalism, communication and follow-through.

Required qualifications:

  • Experience supporting young people who face barriers to education, training or employment.
  • Experience delivering youth work, personal development, employability or accredited learning programmes.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people while maintaining clear boundaries and professional standards.
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
  • Confidence motivating, encouraging and appropriately challenging young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A PGCE, Certificate in Teaching (CIT) or Level 3/Level 4 Youth Work qualification that includes planning, delivering and evaluating learning with young people, or a recognised Youth Work qualification with a willingness to complete the CIT within two years of joining.
  • Evidence of delivering outcomes, projects, qualifications or agreed objectives.
  • Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work.
  • Confidence using digital systems, Microsoft Office and learner management systems.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Commitment to Get Set UK's values and to supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Willingness to complete all required recruitment checks, including right to work, references and enhanced AccessNI/DBS checks where required.
  • Right to work in the UK. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience working within funded youth, employability or skills programmes.
  • Knowledge of qualification frameworks and accredited learning.
  • Additional teaching, training or coaching qualifications.
