You will teach accredited creative pathways such as media, design, performing arts or wider creative industries. This is purposeful teaching with clear expectations, defined hours and measurable outcomes.

What This Role Is Really About

Your role is to turn creative skills into confidence, qualifications and next steps. You will help learners understand how their creative interests connect to real jobs, freelance work and further study. Learners should leave your sessions with stronger skills, better portfolios and a clearer sense of direction.

  • Location: centre-based delivery in Belfast
  • This is not a home-based role
  • Structured timetable, clear attendance and punctuality expectations
  • Set curriculum and compliance requirements

What You Will Do

  • Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging creative arts lessons
  • Teach accredited vocational qualifications in your creative discipline
  • Connect creative skills to real roles in the creative industries
  • Prepare learners for internal and external assessment
  • Support learners to progress into work, apprenticeships or further study
  • Build trust and motivation through strong relationships
  • Keep all teaching records, registers and learner files accurate and audit-ready
  • Work with colleagues to meet engagement, retention and achievement targets

Employer / Stakeholder Element

  • Liaise with internal teams to keep projects and content relevant to local creative sectors
  • Where appropriate, bring in examples, case studies or live briefs from creative employers or practitioners
  • Represent Get Set UK and the programme professionally with learners, parents and partners

What Makes Someone Successful Here

You will succeed if you are organised, reliable and comfortable with a structured timetable. You enjoy creative teaching but can also follow a curriculum, meet deadlines and keep records in good order. You are the type of tutor who turns up prepared, starts on time, sets clear expectations and does what you say you will do.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant Creative Arts discipline (e.g. media, design, performing arts, visual arts or similar)
  • PGCE, CIT or recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to start the CIT within two years of appointment
  • Experience teaching or facilitating creative learning (education, community or workplace)
  • Ability to plan, assess and adapt sessions for diverse needs
  • Strong classroom management and clear communication
  • Passion for inclusion, progression and the futures of young people
  • Confidence using basic digital tools to support delivery and learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding, compliance and professional standards

A Day in the Role

A typical teaching day starts with reviewing your lesson plan and creative resources. You arrive early, set up the room and check everything is ready.
