Help people move into real, sustainable jobs. At Get Set UK, we help people build the skills, confidence and stability needed to move into work. We are delivering the Connect to Work programme across Hertfordshire, supporting people who face barriers to employment because of disability, long-term health conditions or complex life challenges.
As an Employment Specialist, you will support people in the community to find and sustain paid work. You will provide practical guidance, build relationships with employers and help participants take realistic steps towards employment. This is purposeful, people-focused work where you can see the impact of what you do.
A Mobile Community Role
This role is community-based and mobile. You will travel across the region each day to meet participants, employers and partner organisations. Meetings take place in community venues, health settings or workplaces. This is not a home-based role. You must be comfortable travelling daily and have reliable access to transport.
What You Will Do
- Manage a caseload of participants seeking employment
- Meet regularly to understand their skills, strengths and goals
- Develop vocational profiles and clear action plans
- Provide support with job search, CVs and interview preparation
- Offer in-work support to help people sustain employment
- Maintain accurate records and outcome data
Your focus will be helping people move into work quickly, with the right support around them.
Employer Engagement
You will also build relationships with local employers. You will:
- Identify suitable job opportunities for participants
- Promote inclusive recruitment practices
- Support employers with reasonable adjustments
- Provide ongoing support once employment begins
Partnership Working
You will work closely with services including:
- Health services and primary care teams
- Jobcentre Plus
- Local authorities
- Training providers
- Community and voluntary organisations
Strong partnership working helps create real pathways into work.
