Get Set UK delivers comes with promises: to the people we
support
and in the contracts we deliver
. As our Quality and Compliance Officer, you make sure we keep them. You will check how the work is really done and, where practice falls short of the promise, help teams put it right.
The opportunity
Your focus will be our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) contract in Essex. You will audit how the work is actually being done, measure it against our contractual obligations, industry standards and company values, and turn what you find into clear reports and practical action plans. Then you will help teams act on them through feedback, training and follow-up. This role means telling colleagues things they may not want to hear, and persuading them to change how they work rather than handing over a report and walking away. If you would rather not challenge how work is done, it may not be right for you. If you can do it fairly, with evidence and with respect, you could do well here.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out audits and monitoring processes against contractual requirements, company standards and values
- Writing accurate audit reports, with clear remedial action plans where improvement is needed
- Tracking progress against contractual KPIs and raising it where standards are not being met
- Working with the Quality Manager to develop the audit framework and compliance processes
- Delivering training so colleagues understand compliance standards and put right areas of non-compliance
- Protecting customer data in line with our security practices, and working to our Health & Safety Policy
What you'll need
You will travel within Essex, where our IPS contract is delivered. It is a large county, so we are looking for people already based there who hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Experience of conducting audits against contractual or company compliance requirements
- Understanding of regulatory and contractual requirements in employment, education or welfare-to-work services
- Experience of writing accurate audit or monitoring reports that give others clear actions to take
- Experience of analysing data to identify trends and agreeing action plans in response
- Experience of influencing stakeholders and securing their agreement to compliance improvements
- The ability to prioritise several tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Written and verbal communication that explains findings and recommendations clearly
- Experience of using MS Office and data management systems for data entry, auditing and reporting
We have not set a qualification requirement. We are interested in what you have done and can evidence.
It would help, but is not required, if you also have:
- Knowledge of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model
- A recognised internal audit or quality assurance qualification
- Experience of delivering training to colleagues
What good looks like in this role
These are not extra requirements. They describe how we work at Get Set UK and what doing this job well looks like day to day.
Get it right: You uphold quality standards, policies and legal requirements in your daily work, encourage colleagues to do the same, and stay honest and fair when the findings are uncomfortable
Deliver results: You review your own performance against your goals and feedback, take ownership when something goes wrong, and put measures in place so it does not happen again
People and Communication: You build respectful, cooperative relationships across teams and communicate clearly and professionally, in writing and in person, so people know what happens next
Business acumen: You are an expert in your field, apply that expertise to solve real problems, and keep up to date with developments in your area of work
