About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Vocational Tutor – Creative Arts to deliver structured, engaging learning that prepares young people for the world of work. You will teach accredited creative pathways such as media, design, performing arts or wider creative industries. This is purposeful teaching with clear expectations, defined hours and measurable outcomes.

What You Will Do
- Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging creative arts lessons
- Teach accredited vocational qualifications in your creative discipline
- Connect creative skills to real roles in the creative industries

- Build trust and motivation through strong relationships
- Keep all teaching records, registers and learner files accurate and audit-ready
- Work with colleagues to meet engagement, retention and achievement targets
Employer / Stakeholder Element
- Liaise with internal teams to keep projects and content relevant to local creative sectors
- Where appropriate, bring in examples, case studies or live briefs from creative employers or practitioners
- Represent Get Set UK and the programme professionally with learners, parents and partners

What You Will Bring
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant Creative Arts discipline (e.g. media, design, performing arts, visual arts or similar)
- PGCE, CIT or recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to start the CIT within two years of appointment
- Experience teaching or facilitating creative learning (education, community or workplace)
- Ability to plan, assess and adapt sessions for diverse needs
- Strong classroom management and clear communication
- Passion for inclusion, progression and the futures of young people
- Confidence using basic digital tools to support delivery and learning
- Commitment to safeguarding, compliance and professional standards
A Day in the Role
A typical teaching day starts with reviewing your lesson plan and creative resources. You arrive early, set up the room and check everything is ready. In the session, you set expectations clearly, then guide learners through practical creative tasks linked to real roles in the sector. You manage behaviour calmly, keep activities moving and make sure everyone participates. After class, you update registers and learner records, mark any work, and plan the next session. The role is structured, focused and rewarding when you see learners grow in confidence and ambition.
