A Day in the Life of an Employability Tutor
My day usually starts by reviewing lesson plans, attendance and learner progress. In the morning, I may deliver a structured session on interview techniques or workplace behaviour. I set clear expectations at the start and maintain engagement throughout. If behaviour or participation dips, I address it calmly and directly. After the session, I update learner records and track attendance. If someone has been absent, I follow up appropriately to understand the reason and reset expectations. Later, I might deliver a remote workshop or provide one-to-one feedback on CVs and assessments. The role requires energy, organisation and consistency. What makes it rewarding is seeing learners grow in confidence and readiness for work.
