Commercial Account Handler – Bradford (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £35,000. Office-based during probation, then 2 days from home.
Role Overview
This role has come about because the brokerage is continuing to grow and is looking to add another Commercial Account Handler into their SME team in Bradford. It is a proper broking role where you\’ll handle SME renewals day to day, build relationships with clients, and work closely with insurers to secure the right outcomes. The book is varied, with simple low-premium e-trade policies as well as more complex manual risks or portfolio-based renewals. New business support is also expected, providing a chance to broaden product knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day SME renewal work.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and insurers.
- Seek cross‑sell or up‑sell opportunities where appropriate.
- Support new business acquisition as it comes in.
- Attend client meetings for Account Executive‑led cases.
- Work in a busy, fast‑paced team, supporting colleagues when busy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally 2-3 years SME commercial broking experience.
- Confident in speaking to clients and insurers.
- Proactive, organised, with good attention to detail.
- Approachable and team‑focused.
- Keen to learn and develop technically.
Working Conditions
New starters: office‑based five days a week for the first six months to integrate quickly. After probation, the role remains hybrid – two days working from home, three days in the office.
