We are exclusively partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business in Dewsbury that is modernising its finance function and investing in new systems. The company is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the day‐to‐day running of the finance team, while also delivering hands‐on management accounting, business partnering, and systems improvement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or QBE finance professional with manufacturing/engineering experience that is keen to join a fast‐growing business. Candidates with the right experience operating at Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant, Financial Controller or Finance Business Partner level will be considered.
THE FINANCE MANAGER ROLE
- Reporting to the Finance Director, as the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the day‐to‐day management of the finance department, leading and developing a team of 3.
- Bringing the Management Accounts function in‐house, implementing the month‐end process and preparing the monthly management accounts.
- Deliver insightful MI analysis and provide Finance Business Partner support to key operational departments.
- Lead on cost of manufacturing, bills of materials, and standardised product costings analysis.
- Full ownership of cashflow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Oversee weekly and monthly payroll.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of a new ERP system, modernising and streamlining finance processes.
- Partner with operational and commercial leads to provide financial insight, challenge, and support decision‐making.
- Responsible for Year End, External Audit and Statutory submissions, in collaboration with the external practice.
- Review and refine the company's bonus scheme and reward model.
- Support the Finance Director with ad hoc analysis, projects, and strategic initiatives.
THE PERSON
- Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Qualified by Experience / QBE.
- Strong manufacturing or engineering finance background.
- Experience of cost of manufacturing, bills of material / BOM's, and standard product costings would be an advantage.
- Must have experience leading a small team, within a similar role, such as Senior Management Accountant, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager.
- Must have experience of producing management accounts.
- Track record / experience of systems migration / implementation.
- Strong business partnering and communication skills to influence non‐finance stakeholders.
