Details About the role:
As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll help raise vital funds to support the work of Shropshire Rural Support. From pouring cups of tea to helping set up functions, running raffles, welcoming guests, and encouraging people to support our cause, you’ll play a key part in increasing SRS’s fundraising income and community presence. This is a fun, varied, and rewarding role so perfect for anyone who enjoys being active and meeting people.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the Fundraising Manager in delivering successful fundraising events
- Helping run raffles, fundraising activities, and sourcing of auction lots
- Motivating individuals/corporates/groups to support SRS through donations or volunteering
- Spotting opportunities to boost income at events and sharing ideas with the team
- Promoting how donations help rural families across Shropshire
Event Support:
- Setting up, maintaining, and packing down at SRS events
- Serving refreshments such as teas, coffees, or cakes
- Keeping promotional and fundraising materials stocked, tidy, and appealing
- Welcoming the public and creating a warm, positive atmosphere
Community Engagement:
- Speaking confidently about SRS and the support we offer
- Encouraging people to follow, support, or volunteer for future fundraising activities
- Gathering contact details or enquiries confidentially and securely
- Helping build community enthusiasm around SRS events
