IMO Charity New Fundraising Manager Blackburn · hybrid £33k–35k

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role in delivering IMO Charity’s fundraising strategy and helping to secure sustainable income that enables us to transform lives across Lancashire.

You will develop and manage fundraising activity across trusts and foundations, statutory funding, corporate partnerships, major donors, community fundraising and individual giving.

The role carries responsibility for contributing towards IMO Charity’s income target of £1.7 million in FY26/27 while helping build long-term financial sustainability through year-on-year growth.

Working closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager, you will jointly manage the fundraising pipeline, develop high-quality funding applications with programme teams, prepare accurate budgets with Finance and build strong relationships with funders, commissioners and corporate partners.

Both Fundraising Managers will work collaboratively, sharing applications and relationships to ensure resilience, continuity and a balanced workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundraising Strategy
• Support the development and delivery of IMO Charity’s fundraising strategy.
• Develop a diverse fundraising portfolio across trusts, statutory funding, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, major donors and individual giving.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with IMO Charity’s strategic priorities.
• Contribute towards income growth and long-term financial sustainability.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise fundraising opportunities through effective storytelling and campaigns.
• Fundraising Delivery
• Prepare high-quality grant applications, tenders, sponsorship proposals and partnership bids.
• Manage a shared fundraising pipeline with the Senior Fundraising Manager, prioritising opportunities based on deadlines, value and organisational priorities.
• Work closely with Health and Youth teams to develop strong funding proposals.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team to produce accurate project budgets.
• Maintain fundraising systems including the fundraising calendar, pipeline dashboard, bid library and funder relationship plans.
• Relationship Management
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with funders, donors, commissioners, corporate partners and supporters.
• Deliver outstanding stewardship to maximise donor retention and long-term engagement.
• Jointly manage key funder relationships to ensure continuity during periods of leave or absence.
• Compliance & Governance
• Ensure fundraising complies with GDPR, the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice and IMO Charity policies.
• Maintain accurate donor and funder records.
• Ensure compliance with financial procedures and reporting requirements.
• Protect the reputation and integrity of IMO Charity in all fundraising activity.
• Work within safeguarding, equality and organisational policies at all times.
• Innovation & Performance
• Use data and insight to improve fundraising performance.
• Monitor fundraising trends and identify new opportunities.
• Develop innovative fundraising campaigns and supporter journeys.
• Help diversify income streams and reduce organisational funding risk.

• Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners.

• Travel across Lancashire when required.

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven fundraising experience with responsibility for delivering ambitious income targets.
• Experience across multiple fundraising streams, with significant expertise in at least two of the following:
• Trusts and Foundations
• Statutory funding and tenders
• Corporate partnerships
• Major donors
• Individual giving
• Strong grant writing and relationship management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills.
• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while using your own initiative.
• Knowledge of donor stewardship and supporter engagement.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable

• Degree or equivalent professional fundraising qualification or experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams.
• Knowledge of Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire communities.
• Existing relationships with local businesses, corporate partners or major donors.
