The predicted salary is between 20000 - 22000 £ per year.
Hours: 8 hours per week.
Salary: £25,878 pro-rated to £5,595 – this is what you will receive for a year.
Contract type: This is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months initially, extendable funding dependent.

What we are looking for: The role will work to achieve our aims of empowering citizens to get their voices heard, express their views, make their choices, secure their rights and be valued as citizens. You will support parents with learning disabilities through empowering parenting training and support to improve their lives and the lives of their children. You will work on Pregnancy to Parenthood. This is CASBA’s flagship project. It is a very special project, one of a kind in the country, which aims to keep families with learning disabilities together.
Much of your role will be working with a colleague advocate who is trained to deliver Mellow Parenting (training will be given) to prepare and deliver training to parents with learning disabilities, throughout pregnancy and then as new parents. You will empower them to develop good parenting skills and to ensure their children receive the appropriate support they need. You will also work with volunteer mentors who support parents weekly to practise the skills you teach them.
Previous experience as a community connector/worker is an advantage. This is highly rewarding and empowering work. As this role is focussing on the highly diverse community of Hall Green and participants must be parents with learning disabilities and resident in the constituency, excellent networks in the community, community languages, contacts and knowledge of Hall Green are essential to this role.
