Role Overview

As the Course Manager, you play a vital leadership role in the success and reputation of your course within the Get Golfing group. Your responsibility extends beyond maintaining excellent playing surfaces—it\’s about driving standards, developing your team, and embracing our values of accessibility, sustainability, and community engagement.

This role is about taking ownership, delivering continuous improvement, and helping shape the future of our golf course and its contribution to the Get Golfing mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Continue to lead and mentor the greenkeeping team, fostering a positive and productive work environment with a focus on personal development, accountability, and pride in the course
  • Course Presentation & Playability: Maintain consistently high standards of turf quality and course conditioning across all areas—greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs
  • Operational Planning: Build and deliver annual agronomy plans, weekly maintenance schedules, and daily task lists in line with Get Golfing\’s expectations and seasonal needs
  • Machinery & Resources: Ensure all machinery is properly maintained, used efficiently, and that the team is trained in safe operation
  • Budget Management: Work within agreed budgets for materials, labour, and machinery. Identify cost-saving opportunities and support long-term capital investment planning
  • Health & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring all risk assessments and training records are up to date
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the General Managers and Events team to support tournaments, corporate days, and member events through strategic planning and excellent communication
  • Reporting & Development: Provide clear updates on course condition, staffing, and project progress. Embrace ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider group agronomy discussions

Performance Expectations

  • Deliver year-round consistency in course quality and playability
  • Develop and retain a motivated, skilled greenkeeping team
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in both course infrastructure and team operations
  • Maintain strong relationships with both the membership and fellow site teams
