Position: Maths or English functional skills tutor for adult learners.
Location: We are seeking tutors based in Essex. Tuition is in-person and is expected to take place across Chelmsford. You must be able to reliably commute to one of these locations on a weekly basis.
Hours Available: 10-15 hours per week. Programmes will run until the end of May 2026.
Salary: £18 an hour plus holiday pay.

About Us: Get Further are an award-winning charity that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop the skills they need to progress onto higher-level courses, apprenticeships, and into the workplace. We partner with colleges and employers to deliver tailored tuition for GCSE and Functional Skills, offering valuable extra support to help students secure gateway qualifications.
About the Role: As a Flex Tutor, you’ll deliver small-group tuition (1–3 students) using Get Further’s ready-to-go Maths and English resources. You’ll help unlock opportunities for learners who need a second chance at crucial gateway qualifications. No lesson planning needed- just focused delivery and meaningful student support during 1-hour sessions. Programmes will run for 3 months with the potential to extend to 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the life chances of students – helping them to improve their skills and achieve key qualifications that open doors for future study and work.

Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent)
- A-level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject at grade B or above
- Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree (or working towards one)
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Commitment to attend two full days of training
- Access to travel to placement and/or online setup (for remote roles).
