GES is seeking a dynamic and dedicated GL Accountant to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients worldwide, this is the opportunity for you!
The main purpose of this role is to deal with auditor requests; complex analysis and reconciliation of data, the production of balance sheet reconciliations to strict deadlines, challenging information, explanation of variances and following through to ensure reconciling items are dealt with promptly.
Workload is naturally cyclical throughout the year so planning of own workload, flexibility and a willingness to help out with achieving team goals is essential.
The ideal candidate will follow agreed processes consistently and the role will require both written and verbal communication to be clear to financial and non-financial staff at all levels in the business.
As a GL Accountant at GES, you will:
• Deal with queries and data requests from internal and external audit, as required.
• Complete tasks as part of month-end, quarter-end and year end close processes.
• Prepare and enter ad-hoc month end journals with supporting documentation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline.
• Deal with basic VAT queries
• Supporting manager with lease accounting requirements.
• Project support, either directly or as backfill.
• Cover for manager and other team members during holiday and absence
• Various other ad-hoc accounting duties as required.

Salary
This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.
Hours of work
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. On occasion you may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods to meet the demands of the business.
Annual leave
Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
