Do you have experience within the exhibition and events industry? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? GES are currently looking for an Electrics Planner to join our Electrics Team based at the Excel in London.
Role Purpose
Reporting into the Senior Electrical Planning Manager, you will be the planning point of contact for Electrics (South). Carrying out planning preparation tasks and responsibilities. You will be the main point of contact for our electrical sub‑contracted partners, ensuring excellent relationships are maintained and a high procurement status is maintained at all times.

You Will
- Using Clarity (MIS), complete and obtain data for each show, ensuring correct information is utilised and updated promptly.
- Work closely with the Business Process Manager on this task for additional training and reporting any issues.
- Assessing priorities daily (according to show dates) and discussing daily schedule (calendar) with the Electrics Team.
- Working with Show Build Live, carry out and ensure all pre‑show preparation for Electrics is fulfilled in accordance with our SOP’s and processes.
- Update and maintain the Electrics master schedule.
- Raise pick lists for electrical stock and ensure stock data is accurate at all times.
- Oversee the processing and quality assurance of works orders, interpretation and compilation of electrical grids. This will involve close liaison with associated team ie: Service Centre.
- Raise PO’s where necessary, update our sub‑contractors with PO details and ensure full reconciliation with invoices post show.
- Book hotels and travel and prepare onsite files / data for the Electrics delivery team.
- Working closely with the Electrics Planner (North) ensure all periods are covered through holiday/absence cover.
- Offer operational support to colleagues, particularly with our integral systems – Clarity and Show Build Live.
- Ensure new staff are assisted with training as required. This may mean at times working with other teams in Central Planning.
- Customer liaison and query resolution, ensuring email queries are replied to promptly, addressing urgent requests.
- Ensure correct uniform is available and quantities are ready for Delivery teams.
- Liaise closely with stakeholders throughout the business, including Commercial, Financial and Service Centre teams.
- Obtain IR35 certification for suppliers as required.
- Collaborate with our Transport colleagues on each event if required – working within parameters of sustainability and efficiency.
- Ensure revenue data streams match at all times, liaise with stakeholders as necessary.
- Be instrumental in the introduction of process and change of methods as the Central Planning team evolves.
- Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position.
Relationships
You will be required to develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships both internally and externally, to facilitate growth and integration across the business. You will be required to work collaboratively alongside and provide support to the GES employees/departments and suppliers/exhibitors/organisers.
Salary
This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.
Hours Of Work
This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel as required.
Annual Leave
Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
