Are you ready to take your Inventory expertise to the next level? GES is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Inventory Planner to join our team based at the NEC near Birmingham. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients worldwide, this is the opportunity for you!
As an Inventory Planner at GES, your primary duties will include monitoring inventory levels, demand planning, ordering new stock as required and organising shipments/deliveries to ensure that the right stock is in place minimising transport and re-shipment.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Fully manage and execute Inventory and Stand Fitting duties for our critical platforms including Clarity, Sage X3 and Show Build Live (SBL) at all times. Ensure data is accurate and kept up to date.
- Using advanced IT skills and excellent knowledge of stock movement you will interpret, analyse, communicate and present evidence-based data where necessary.
- Monitor stock levels accurately, identify discrepancies and investigate and resolve in a timely manner.
- Support the delivery and onsite teams with discrepancies for live events.
- Source suppliers and foster good relationships.
- Prepare and document daily deliveries and shipments.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics for the shows.
- Preparing reports and advising management on strategies to reduce cost and improve procedures.
- Purchase new stock and negotiate favourable contracts with suppliers, ensuring our ESG journey is followed.
- Working closely with Client Relations, Purchasing and other stakeholders to organise the efficient flow of inventory.
- Cover for the Inventory Planning Manager where necessary, carrying out tasks such as using block plans to reserve stock for the shows and answering questions from the wider team.
- Work in a fast-paced environment anticipating and preparing for change, and support our adapting processes.

Salary
This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.
Hours of work
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. On occasion you may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods to meet the demands of the business.
Annual leave
Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
