Due to continued growth and expansion here at GES, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dye Sub Print Operator to join our production team based at the NEC near Birmingham. Working within our busy print and production environment, you will be responsible for producing high-quality printed textile graphics for exhibitions and events. You will operate large-format dye sublimation printing and finishing equipment including CNC flatbed cutting equipment and Kedar edge finishing, ensuring all work is produced to the required quality standards and delivered within agreed deadlines. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate large-format dye sublimation printers and associated finishing equipment.
  • Prepare and load print media, fabrics and transfer paper.
  • Check artwork and print specifications before production.
  • Monitor print quality, colour consistency and registration throughout production.
  • Carry out quality checks and identify and rectify print defects.
  • Complete routine cleaning and maintenance of printing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues.
  • Accurately record production information and material usage.
  • Work closely with the artwork, production, warehouse and project teams to meet deadlines.
  • Prioritise work effectively during busy production periods.
  • Ensure finished products are correctly labelled, packed and prepared for dispatch or installation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised production area.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.
  • Support the Production Manager and wider production team with additional manufacturing tasks as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience operating dye sublimation or large-format digital printing equipment.
  • A good understanding of textile printing and finishing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good IT skills and confidence working with print production software.
  • An understanding of colour management and print specifications.
  • The ability to identify and resolve production and quality issues.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • A reliable, practical and proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider production team.

This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.

Hours of work

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. On occasion you may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods to meet the demands of the business.

Annual leave

Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
