The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the centralized management, witnessing, and verification of equipment during the early stages of the commissioning process. This role ensures that all productized assemblies are standardized, performance‑verified, and compliant with technical requirements and governing regulations before they are shipped to their final destinations.
Responsibilities
- Management: Provide oversight and witnessing during factory testing (Level 1) and integration phases.
- Quality Verification: Ensure that no critical or high‑priority issues remain unresolved before equipment leaves the factory.
- Technical Sign‑off: Execute and obtain sign‑offs for commissioning checklists and tags (Red and Orange tags) within the project’s digital management system.
- Coordination & Safety: Lead daily technical coordination and safety meetings at vendor facilities to resolve outstanding issues.
- Data Continuity: Manage the transfer of critical documentation such as “as‑left” settings and O&M manuals to the site‑based commissioning teams.
- Performance Reporting: Generate commissioning reports for batches of assets, documenting quality data, challenges, and any deferred inspections.
Qualifications
- Systems Expertise: Experience in commissioning complex mechanical/electrical systems, including modular cooling and power units.
- Quality Management: Strong understanding of QA and QC systems and testing methodologies.
- Digital Proficiency: Ability to manage documentation, submittals, and issues logs within cloud‑based construction management platforms.
- Safety: Commitment to adhering to site‑specific Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs.
