We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join the fantastic team in Woking. Reporting to the Head of HS&E, this is a key operational role focused on embedding a positive, forward-looking health, safety, and environmental culture across all areas of the business.

You will work autonomously while partnering closely with teams across multiple sites to drive HS&E excellence. You will support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Safe Systems of Work, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best-practice HS&E standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Define, develop, and maintain Safe Systems of Work
  • Lead and support the creation of HS&E risk assessments across all sites
  • Consult, coach, and advise on operational HS&E issues to reduce and mitigate risks
  • Maintain regulatory permits and coordinate Statutory Inspections
  • Ensure the generation and maintenance of accurate HS&E records
  • Support the preparation and management of site emergency plans
  • Review, update, and improve company HS&E policies and procedures
  • Produce clear and transparent HS&E performance reports
  • Support and lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance with HS&E policies and Safe Operating Techniques (SOTs)
  • Facilitate HS&E training, inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions
  • Promote and maintain a positive health, safety, and environmental culture
  • Support wellbeing initiatives and help foster a psychologically safe workplace

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven HS&E experience within an industrial or process-driven environment
  • NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, and Environmental Permitting
  • Solid understanding of UK HS&E legislation
  • Experience conducting HS&E assessments, audits, or inspections
  • Experience using digital HSE platforms or systems
  • Exposure to ESG or sustainability initiatives
  • Experience with Integrated Management Systems (beneficial)
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills (beneficial)
