Are you an experienced Production Planner looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to join our growing team in Southampton. This role will play a vital part in managing production planning activities for one of two value streams within a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll work closely with production, supply chain, procurement, and order management teams to ensure efficient scheduling, optimal inventory control, and on-time delivery of world-class products to customers worldwide.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and materials availability.
- Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to prioritise tasks and ensure timely product delivery.
- Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to keep schedules on track.
- Liaise with order management to understand customer requirements and resolve escalations quickly.
- Implement planning strategies, lean manufacturing principles, and process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Support new product introductions and manage design or BOM changes with minimal disruption.
- Analyse production data to optimise workflows, reduce lead times, and improve overall productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage KPIs for on-time delivery, and oversee ERP/MRP planning activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years in production planning within a complex manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, inventory management, and production control.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with S&OP, MRP/ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
- IT Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Qualifications: Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred; relevant planning or manufacturing certifications are an advantage.
