An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Senior Electronic Engineer to join an innovative engineering organisation developing advanced micro circuit modules for high-reliability applications across the oil & gas, aerospace, and defence sectors.

This position offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of new electronic module developments, leading architecture definition, circuit design, verification, and validation activities from concept through to production readiness. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping future product designs, influencing system architecture, and delivering robust, manufacturable solutions capable of operating in demanding and harsh environments.

This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong background in analogue, mixed-signal, power, sensing, RF, or signal-conditioning electronics who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within multidisciplinary engineering teams. Experience in hybrid microelectronics, chip-and-wire, die attach, wire bonding, or advanced packaging technologies would be highly advantageous, although support and training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical lead for new micro circuit module developments, taking ownership of electronic architecture, design strategy, and critical technical decisions.
  • Lead requirements capture and definition activities, working closely with customers, manufacturing, quality, and project teams to translate application needs into robust design solutions.
  • Design and develop high-reliability electronic circuits, including analogue, mixed-signal, power management, sensing, control, and signal-conditioning functions.
  • Influence product architecture from the earliest stages of development, ensuring designs are reliable, manufacturable, testable, and suitable for harsh operating environments.
  • Perform schematic capture, simulation, design analysis, component selection, verification planning, and validation activities.
  • Review and approve electronic schematics, layouts, module interconnects, hybrid assembly documentation, and technical design packages.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, process, test, quality, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure successful product development and production readiness.
  • Evaluate components, materials, and technologies suitable for high-reliability and safety-critical applications.
  • Lead technical reviews, design reviews, requirements reviews, and design sign-off activities.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership during prototype builds, qualification programmes, design validation, and production introduction.
  • Support root cause investigations and technical problem-solving activities to improve product robustness and reliability.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, sharing technical knowledge and developing engineering capability across the team.
