A fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Senior Test & Diagnostics Engineer to play a key role within a high-performance electronics manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, developing robust test solutions, and driving continuous improvement. You will take ownership of test system development, lead diagnostic activities, and work closely with engineering and production teams to improve product quality, reliability, and yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Test System Development & Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement test systems for production, prototype, and NPI electronic assemblies
- Translate test requirements into robust hardware and software solutions
- Configure, program, and validate automated and manual test equipment
- Ensure test equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with required standards
- Diagnostics & Technical Support
- Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing
- Carry out advanced fault-finding to component level using schematics and test equipment
- Support board and system-level troubleshooting and rework activities
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and production teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex product issues
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in test processes to increase yield and reduce cycle times
- Analyse test data to identify trends and recurring issues
- Lead root-cause analysis activities (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys)
- Contribute to design-for-test (DfT) during product development
- Documentation & Communication
- Create and maintain technical documentation including test procedures and work instructions
- Provide clear updates to stakeholders on progress and performance
- Support product verification and release activities
About You
- Essential:
- HND or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience in electronic test, diagnostics, or production engineering
- Excellent fault-finding skills to component level
- Experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
- Background within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Desirable:
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE)
- Programming knowledge (Python, C#, LabVIEW or similar)
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, KiCad)
- Experience within aerospace, defence, or other high-reliability sectors
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Understanding of Design-for-Test (DfT) principles

- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) is essential
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required
