We're looking for a commercially minded Head of Product to help drive the next stage of growth for an innovative technology business operating within the EV charging and energy storage sector. This is not a traditional product management role. We're looking for someone who understands the charging, energy storage or connected hardware landscape, can identify market opportunities, shape compelling propositions and influence business strategy. You'll help determine where the business invests, how it differentiates itself and how it creates long-term value for customers. Working closely with the founders and leadership team, you'll sit at the intersection of customer need, market opportunity, technology capability and commercial value. Success in this role will be measured not simply by products delivered, but by the impact those products have on growth, market position and competitive advantage.

As Head of Product, you will own product strategy, portfolio direction and roadmap execution across a suite of integrated hardware, software and service solutions. You'll be responsible for identifying the most valuable opportunities available to the business, understanding where the market is heading and ensuring product investments align with both customer needs and commercial objectives. A key focus will be supporting the next phase of growth, including the development of higher-power charging solutions, the evolution of increasingly software-defined products and expansion into new European markets. You'll bring a strong external perspective, maintaining a deep understanding of customers, competitors, industry developments and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Identify market opportunities and future growth areas.
  • Drive product differentiation and competitive positioning.
  • Own portfolio decisions across hardware, software and service offerings.
  • Support the development of next-generation higher-power charging products, including solutions for larger commercial vehicle applications.
  • Help shape the transition towards increasingly software-defined products and services.
  • Support European market expansion, including product compliance, certification and localisation requirements.
  • Develop pricing, propositions and commercial business cases.
  • Work closely with customers to understand current and future needs.
  • Align Product, Engineering, Commercial and Operations teams around shared objectives.
  • Translate strategy into clear product plans and delivery outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute actively to wider business strategy and growth plans.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience within EV charging, battery energy storage systems (BESS), energy technology, smart devices, connected products or related technology markets.
  • Strong understanding of both hardware and software product development and how they combine to create customer value.
  • Experience developing product strategy, propositions or commercial product plans.
  • A proven ability to identify opportunities and turn them into business value.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, market positioning and business case development.
  • Customer-focused with a strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • Knowledge of product compliance, certification or bringing products into new international markets would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve quickly.
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
The Person

You'll be naturally curious, commercially astute and opportunity-focused. You won't wait for opportunities to appear - you'll actively seek them out. You'll be comfortable challenging assumptions, making decisions with imperfect information and creating momentum across the business. Most importantly, you'll understand where the charging, energy and connected technology markets are heading and be excited by the opportunity to help shape that future.

Why Join?
  • Play a key role in shaping the future direction of a growing business.
  • Direct access to founders and strategic decision-making.
  • Work on innovative products combining hardware, software and services.
  • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
  • 9-day fortnight working pattern.
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact in a high-growth environment.

If you're passionate about the future of charging infrastructure, energy technology and connected products, and want the opportunity to influence both product and business strategy, we'd love to hear from you.
