We are recruitng a Design Engineer / Drafter for our client who specialise in turning shipping containers into functional, creative and bespoke spaces (Industrial/Commercial and Residential).
With a large in-house production facility and recent investment in direct sales and marketing capability, we are looking for the right individual to support Container Conversion team with design, and technical drawings to suit our customers varied requirements and specification.
Key responsibilities
To draft general assembly layouts & plans for client approval using AutoCAD and Inventor.
To specify project requirements to component and subcomponent level, source parts and compile bills of materials when necessary.
To complete full technical Fabrication / Lining and Electrical layout production drawings
To compile technical/product support documentation (Datasheets /COSH/ Manuals) when required.
To support/advise any involved in-house or sub-contractor staff to support delivery of the projects (electrical, mechanical, civils trades).
To attend customer sites to meet with clients, suppliers or subcontractors as required.
To assist with compiling technical documentation for tender submissions.
About you
Experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor ideally in ISO container fabrication.
Engineering or other relevant education.
Ability to produce, read & understand technical manufacturing drawings.
Proven record of accomplishment in drafting and DTM – Design to Manufacture.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
Its great, but not required, if you have:
Metal fabrication or construction industry knowledge or qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of H&S requirements in a construction or fabrication environment.
Knowledge of Building Regulations.
Project support or Project management experience.
Exposure to modular construction techniques.
Knowledge of electrical and/or plumbing systems
