We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Full Stack Developer to take ownership of a next-generation, EV fleet portal within a rapidly scaling clean-tech business operating at the forefront of commercial vehicle charging infrastructure. This is a genuine leadership role — you’ll drive architecture, mentor developers, and lead the build of scalable cloud-first applications powering the UK’s transition to electric freight. You’ll be leading a Full Stack Developer and Front-End Developer while remaining deeply technical yourself.
Key duties:
- Leading full stack development across modern JavaScript applications
- Building scalable JamStack/API-driven platforms
- Designing cloud-native solutions in AWS (Lambda, ECS, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS)
- Driving best practice across architecture, CI/CD, security, and performance
- Owning backend and database architecture
- Collaborating with engineering, product, and embedded software teams
- Troubleshooting production issues and delivering robust solutions fast
Key skills / experience:
- Previous experience in a Lead or Technical Lead position
- Strong people management and mentoring experience
- Excellent JavaScript ecosystem knowledge — React, Node.js, APIs
- Strong AWS experience is essential.
- Experience building scalable customer-facing platforms
- Background in SME/start-up or fast-paced environments preferred
- EV charging, fleet tech, or low-carbon energy experience highly desirable
This role is heavily AWS-focused. Candidates with primarily Azure experience won’t be the right fit. This is an opportunity to join a business scaling quickly within one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors — with real ownership, influence, and the chance to build technology that makes a genuine impact.
