This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll drive mechanical design from concept through manufacture, installation and commissioning.

The Role

  • Lead the mechanical design of complex industrial process equipment
  • Own the CAD system (Solid Edge), standards and design release process
  • Design bespoke machinery and integrated material handling systems
  • Ensure correct integration of RF, high‑voltage and electrical control systems
  • Oversee documentation, compliance and design quality

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience designing bespoke industrial machinery or process equipment
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (Solid Edge preferred; SolidWorks/Inventor/Creo welcome)
  • Experience integrating welding systems, RF assemblies, thermal or high‑voltage equipment
  • Sheet metal, frames, enclosures and structural design expertise
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and drive systems (servo/stepper motors)
  • Strong grasp of DFM/DFA, tolerancing and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with suppliers and external manufacturers
  • Understanding of CE / UKCA compliance

Experience acting as a technical lead or design authority is highly desirable, as is exposure to commissioning and supplier management.
