Are you an experienced Production Planner looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to join our growing team in Southampton. This role will play a vital part in managing production planning activities for one of two value streams within a fast‑paced, high‑tech manufacturing environment. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll work closely with production, supply chain, procurement, and order management teams to ensure efficient scheduling, optimal inventory control, and on‑time delivery of world‑class products to customers worldwide.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and materials availability.
- Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to prioritise tasks and ensure timely product delivery.
- Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to keep schedules on track.
- Liaise with order management to understand customer requirements and resolve escalations quickly.
- Implement planning strategies, lean manufacturing principles, and process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Support new product introductions and manage design or BOM changes with minimal disruption.
- Analyse production data to optimise workflows, reduce lead times, and improve overall productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage KPIs for on‑time delivery, and oversee ERP/MRP planning activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years in production planning within a complex manufacturing or technology‑driven environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, inventory management, and production control.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with S&OP, MRP/ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
- IT Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Qualifications: Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred; relevant planning or manufacturing certifications are an advantage.
