We are looking for a Laser Development Engineer to drive the optical development of next-generation fibre laser products. This hands-on role covers the full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team and play a key role in delivering innovative laser solutions to market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop fibre lasers, prototypes, and evaluation systems in collaboration with technology and manufacturing teams
- Support verification, validation, and failure investigations for new products
- Create and maintain project documentation and support manufacturing transfers
- Report project progress to the development team
- 3–5 years’ experience in laser technology/product development
- Hands-on experience in optical labs and a practical understanding of laser physics and components
- Experience working in cross-functional teams delivering NPI into manufacturing
- PhD in lasers or fibre optics preferred, or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a laser engineering-related field with relevant industrial experience
- Hands-on and creative with a strong problem-solving mindset
- Self-starter with drive, initiative, and focus
- Able to work methodically across multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
