We are looking for a highly organised and analytical Production Planning & Scheduling Specialist to join our manufacturing operations team in Great Yarmouth. This is a key role responsible for developing and executing production plans that optimise capacity, materials, and operational resources while supporting on-time delivery and business performance. You will work cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure production schedules remain aligned with demand, operational priorities, and customer expectations. The role also provides leadership across planning systems, process improvement initiatives, and ERP data integrity, while managing a small team within materials and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage mid- to long-term production plans aligned to capacity and material availability
  • Lead daily and weekly production scheduling activities to support operational continuity and customer delivery targets
  • Act as the functional lead for ERP planning systems, ensuring effective utilisation and strong data integrity
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and commercial teams to align production plans with business priorities
  • Identify production bottlenecks and constraints, proactively adjusting plans to mitigate operational risks
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes, tools, and workflows
  • Develop and maintain planning models, reporting tools, and scenario analysis capabilities
  • Monitor and report KPIs including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and capacity utilisation
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities and demand-supply balancing discussions
  • Train and support stakeholders to improve ERP adoption and master data accuracy
  • Provide leadership and support to Materials & Logistics and Goods-In Inspection teams

About You

You will be a proactive and detail-oriented planning professional with strong manufacturing and operational planning experience. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, material planning, and production workflows
  • Experience using ERP and production planning systems
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret operational data
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to identify constraints and implement practical planning solutions
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a structured and analytical approach

Desirable

  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
  • Experience supporting S&OP processes
  • Exposure to scenario planning and simulation tools
