We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced microturbine propulsion systems. This is a hands‑on role focused on the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of high‑performance rotating machinery. You’ll take ownership of mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with manufacturing and test teams to deliver robust, manufacturable designs. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Produce manufacturing, assembly, and inspection drawings, including GD&T.
  • Lead mechanical packaging and layout activities.
  • Drive Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), particularly for rotating components.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, root‑cause investigations, and design iteration.
  • Conduct design reviews and contribute to engineering best practice.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Strong mechanical design experience with complex products and assemblies.
  • Highly proficient in SolidWorks (other CAD packages considered).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience applying DFMA principles to real‑world products.
  • Comfortable working hands‑on with prototypes and testing activities.
  • A collaborative problem solver with the confidence to lead technical workstreams.
