You’ll take ownership of test system development, lead diagnostic activities, and work closely with engineering and production teams to improve product quality, reliability, and yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Test System Development & Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement test systems for production, prototype, and NPI electronic assemblies
- Translate test requirements into robust hardware and software solutions
- Configure, program, and validate automated and manual test equipment
- Ensure test equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with required standards
- Diagnostics & Technical Support
- Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing
- Carry out advanced fault‑finding to component level using schematics and test equipment
- Support board and system‑level troubleshooting and rework activities
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and production teams
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve complex product issues
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in test processes to increase yield and reduce cycle times
- Analyse test data to identify trends and recurring issues
- Lead root‑cause analysis activities (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys)
- Contribute to design‑for‑test (DfT) during product development
- Documentation & Communication
- Create and maintain technical documentation including test procedures and work instructions
- Provide clear updates to stakeholders on progress and performance
- Support product verification and release activities
About You
Essential
- HND or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Strong hands‑on experience in electronic test, diagnostics, or production engineering
- Excellent fault‑finding skills to component level
- Experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
- Background within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Desirable
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE)
- Programming knowledge (Python, C#, LabVIEW or similar)
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, KiCad)
- Experience within aerospace, defence, or other high‑reliability sectors
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Understanding of Design‑for‑Test (DfT) principles
Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) is essential
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required
