As our operations continue to grow, we are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to support a safe and compliant working environment across our UK sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised individual to play a key role in health and safety coordination within a technical and collaborative environment. You will work closely with the Health & Safety Manager and the wider team to uphold legal compliance, support safety initiatives, and promote a positive safety culture across all areas of the business—from laboratories and workshops to offices and R&D facilities.
The role combines hands-on, administrative, and people-facing responsibilities. You’ll be expected to travel regularly between our sites in Oxford, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain high standards of health and safety across a varied, fast-paced workplace
- Support the implementation and review of safety procedures, policies, signage, and risk assessments
- Organise safety training sessions and liaise with external providers
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Monitor and manage PPE stock and safety-critical equipment
- Maintain accurate records, including safety equipment maintenance logs
- Assist with accident and near-miss investigations and implement improvement actions
- Identify and contribute to ongoing improvements in safety processes
- Engage confidently with staff, contractors, and consultants at all levels
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (or higher)
- Prior experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a production or scientific environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
- Working knowledge of regulations such as COSHH, DSEAR, ATEX, and REACH
- Experience assessing risks related to industrial machinery or hazardous substances
- Familiarity with PPE selection, purchasing, and safety equipment maintenance
