An exciting opportunity for a people-focused Production Team Leader to play a key role within a high-performance manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Production Manager, you'll lead from the front on the shop floor driving team engagement, embedding Lean practices, and delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality production operation. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing others, improving processes, and shaping a positive, high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations
- Ensure people and resources are effectively deployed to meet production targets and business objectives.
- Support delivery of manufacturing throughput, identifying bottlenecks, risks, and constraints.
- Monitor daily production activities and escalate issues where required.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Contribute to daily production meetings with clear updates on work status.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support a team within a production environment.
- Conduct performance management activities including one-to-ones, appraisals, and return-to-work meetings.
- Drive engagement, accountability, and a positive team culture.
- Support training, multi-skilling, and development planning across the team.
- Maintain training records and identify capability gaps.
- Performance & Reporting
- Own and report on key production metrics (e.g. SPQCD boards, ERP systems).
- Support tiered meetings and provide accurate performance data.
- Monitor team output against targets and take corrective action where needed.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
- Embed Lean principles, 5S practices, and visual management.
- Use data to drive decision-making and improve efficiency.
- Support structured problem-solving activities (e.g. 5 Whys, root cause analysis).

- Leadership & People Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within manufacturing.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
- Confident managing performance and driving behavioural standards.
- Operational & Technical
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow planning.
- Ability to identify and resolve production issues proactively.
- Experience with production reporting tools and performance metrics.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Clear communicator, confident leading team briefings and meetings.
- Able to work cross-functionally and escalate issues effectively.
- Continuous Improvement
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
- Experience with structured problem-solving approaches (e.g. 5 Whys, PDCA).
- Data-driven mindset with strong organisational skills.

- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) is essential.
