Product Delivery Lead – Agile Transformation Contract | Outside IR35 | Insurance | Product Delivery | Agile Transformation | Operating Model Change

Outside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Product Delivery Lead to provide specialist expertise to a major insurance organisation as it transitions from a traditional project-based delivery model to a product-led delivery model.

This is a key transformation engagement focused not simply on introducing Agile practices, but on changing how change is structured, governed, prioritised and delivered across the organisation.

The Product Delivery Lead will help define and implement the new delivery model, providing practical guidance throughout the transition and working closely with technology, change and business stakeholders to ensure the approach is understood, adopted and embedded.

  • Key Deliverables
  • Definition and implementation of a product-led delivery model, supporting the transition away from traditional project-based delivery.
  • Development of the operating framework required to support Agile product delivery, including appropriate roles, responsibilities, governance, prioritisation and delivery practices.
  • Assessment of existing delivery approaches and identification of the changes required across people, process, governance and technology.
  • Development of a practical transition roadmap for moving from the current project model to the agreed product delivery model.
  • Provision of hands‑on guidance to teams as they adopt new Agile and product‑led ways of working.
  • Establishment of appropriate Agile ceremonies, delivery practices, planning approaches and measures of effectiveness.
  • Guidance on how product teams should manage prioritisation, backlogs, dependencies, outcomes and continuous delivery.
  • Engagement with senior stakeholders to build understanding and support for the new delivery approach.
  • Coaching and guidance for Product Owners, delivery teams and wider stakeholders to help establish sustainable product‑led behaviours.
  • Identification and resolution of barriers to adoption, ensuring the new model becomes embedded rather than operating as a theoretical framework.
  • Development of appropriate measures to assess the maturity, adoption and effectiveness of the product delivery model.
  • Transfer of knowledge and capability to internal teams to enable the organisation to operate and continue developing the model independently.

Experience Required

  • Implementing a product-led delivery model within a complex organisation.
  • Leading or supporting the transition from project-based to product-based delivery.
  • Designing and implementing Agile delivery models, frameworks and ways of working.
  • Operating successfully within mature Agile/product environments and applying that experience pragmatically to organisations undergoing transformation.
  • Establishing appropriate governance, prioritisation and funding approaches for product-led delivery.
  • Coaching and guiding teams through significant changes to delivery practices and behaviours.
  • Working across technology and business functions to ensure product delivery is focused on business outcomes rather than simply technology outputs.
  • Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including those accustomed to traditional project and programme delivery models.
  • Building internal capability and helping teams become self-sufficient rather than creating long‑term dependency on external support.
