A growing Financial Services business is looking for an experienced Central Functions Finance Business Partner to take ownership of a significant non-operational cost base and partner senior leaders across the organisation.

This is a highly visible role within FP&A, supporting Executive and senior stakeholders across central functions including Finance, Legal, Customer and Pricing.

You will be responsible for approximately £30m of expenditure, helping leaders understand what is driving costs, improve forecasting and make better commercial decisions.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will provide financial insight, challenge and decision support across the organisation’s central functions.

You will also work closely with the Strategic Finance team on cost-saving initiatives, financial modelling and tracking benefits through to delivery.

Responsibilities will include

  • Acting as the lead Finance Business Partner for central and corporate functions.
  • Building strong relationships with Executive and senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Owning budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for approximately £30m of expenditure.
  • Providing detailed variance analysis and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Analysing headcount, supplier, technology and other significant costs.
  • Challenging spend and supporting senior leaders with investment decisions.
  • Developing financial models and business cases.
  • Supporting cost‑saving and efficiency programmes.
  • Establishing financial baselines and tracking savings through to delivery.
  • Producing insightful management reporting and commentary.
  • Supporting scenario modelling and strategic decision‑making.
  • Improving financial ownership and accountability across budget holders.

About You

You will be an experienced Finance Business Partner, FP&A or Commercial Finance professional with the confidence to operate with senior stakeholders.

You will have

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification – essential.
  • Strong Finance Business Partnering or FP&A experience.
  • Experience managing and analysing a significant cost base.
  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
  • Strong financial modelling capability.
  • Experience supporting cost reduction, transformation or efficiency programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience challenging senior leaders constructively.
  • Good understanding of headcount and people‑cost modelling.
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear commercial insight.

Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or another complex regulated organisation would be advantageous.
