We are working with a small, well-established and growing law firm based in Haywards Heath, who are looking to welcome a law graduate to join them on a part-time basis initially, focusing on marketing and legal content creation. This role has been designed with future progression in mind. There will be scope to increase hours over time and, subject to workload and training capacity, transition into a paralegal position. This opportunity would suit someone who has completed a law degree and is working towards the next step in their legal career (e.g. SQE preparation), offering valuable hands-on experience within a supportive legal environment whilst working around study commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and editing legal content for the firm’s website, blogs, and newsletters
- Assisting with marketing materials, including brochures, client updates, and social media posts
- Helping maintain and update the firm’s website content
- Supporting the firm’s brand and online presence
- Conducting basic legal research to support content accuracy
- Ensuring all content is compliant, clear, and client-friendly
Paralegal Duties (Future Progression)
- Assisting fee earners with legal research and case preparation
- Drafting basic legal documents and correspondence
- Supporting with file management and case administration
- Liaising with clients and third parties where appropriate
- Attending internal meetings and assisting with matter progression
- Gaining exposure to the firm’s core practice areas
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a law degree (2:1 or above)
- Currently preparing for, or planning to undertake, the SQE
- Strong written communication skills
- An interest in legal content, marketing, and client communication
- Organised, proactive, and keen to learn
- Looking for a flexible role that fits around academic commitments
- Ambitious and interested in long-term progression within a law firm
Working Pattern & Salary
- Part-time (initially) 2 days in the office (Haywards Heath) and ½ day working from home
- Full-time equivalent salary: £25,000 - (£12,500 based on the current part-time arrangement)
