Job Description
A long-established, highly respected Legal 500 firm in Lewes are looking to recruit a dedicated Legal Secretary to join its busy Commercial Property team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The role is highly likely to be extended to 18 months and could become permanent for the right candidate. About the Role:The successful candidate will be joining a high-performing Commercial Property team and will be responsible for delivering full secretarial and administrative support to fee earners.Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Audio typing and dictation of legal documents
- Preparing and amending contracts, leases, and completion statements
- Opening, closing, and maintaining client files (both physical and digital)
- Performing Land Registry and Companies House searches
- Assisting with SDLT forms and other transactional documentation
- Managing diaries and coordinating appointments
- Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other third parties
- Handling telephone and email enquiries efficiently
- General administrative duties such as scanning, photocopying, and filing
