Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive to join its growing litigation team in Brighton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified litigation lawyer with at least 2 years' PQE who is looking to develop their expertise in
Contentious Probate and
TOLATA while also helping to grow new areas of the firm's litigation offering.
This will be a stand alone role where you will be responsible for a varied caseload of contentious probate and TOLATA matters along with general litigation, while having the opportunity to develop your own practice in areas such as property litigation, contract disputes or professional negligence, depending on your experience and interests.
The Role

- Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive
, your responsibilities will include
- Managing a varied litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution.
- Advising clients on litigation strategy and dispute resolution.
- Drafting pre-action correspondence, Letters of Claim and Letters of Response.
- Conducting court proceedings and preparing matters for trial where required.
- Advising on and participating in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
- Instructing counsel and expert witnesses.
- Building and developing your own caseload in new practice areas, particularly property litigation, contract disputes or professional negligence.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and helping to grow the litigation department.
About You
To be successful in this
Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive role, you'll ideally have
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England & Wales.
- At least 2 years' PQE in civil litigation.
- Experience in, or a genuine interest in developing your knowledge in contentious probate and TOLATA matters.
- Experience in property litigation, contract disputes or professional negligence would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, drafting and client care skills.
- A proactive approach with strong commercial awareness and a desire to help grow the department.
