An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist property law firm with an outstanding reputation across Sussex.
Working on a one-to-one basis with an experienced Residential Property Partner, the successful Legal Assistant will gain hands-on exposure to a varied caseload while receiving exceptional mentoring and training. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in residential conveyancing.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with some previous conveyancing experience, although the firm is also keen to hear from bright graduates with a genuine interest in property law who are looking to secure their first Legal Assistant position.
The Role
- Supporting the Partner on a broad range of residential property transactions, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files.
- Opening new files and completing AML and compliance checks.
- Preparing client care documentation, contracts and legal correspondence.
- Ordering searches and assisting with Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors to progress transactions.
- Updating the case management system and maintaining accurate file records.
- Managing diaries, appointments and key transaction deadlines.
- Providing general administrative support throughout the conveyancing process.
About You
- To be successful in this Legal Assistant role, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a conveyancing support role or be a graduate with a genuine interest in property law.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
